Excellent, full time opportunity has arisen for a SEN Teacher required in a SEN School that is set in beautiful surroundings in the wonderful suburbs of Epping Forest and within daily reach of London.

 

This post would suit a dedicated and experienced SEN Teacher with experience teaching a broad and balanced curriculum to a small group of students, who all have a statement of special educational needs (SEN) or an education healthcare plan (EHCP).

 

Experience of teaching nonverbal students on the autistic spectrum, including either PECS or Makaton would be highly advantageous.

 

About the School

 

The school is an all age (3-19), specialist provision for pupils with special Educational Needs. This includes those with severe and complex needs and pupils within the autistic spectrum.

 

This SEN Teacher role is to start in January and for a minimum of two terms. There may be a possible opportunity for this SEN Teacher to go permanent from September.

 

Our school is looking to interview and observe now for a Full-Time SEN Teacher to support a small cohort of SEN children who are on the autistic spectrum.

 

The class has a maximum of five students who are mostly non-verbal and do show signs of challenging behaviour.

 

The class has three teaching assistants to support the teacher.

 

Lesson planning and preparing will be required.

 

*Proven SEN teaching experience.

*Your practice needs to be good or outstanding and experience of teaching children with severe learning difficulties, complex needs, including autism.

* Successful experience of demonstrating a consistent level of inclusive teaching ensuring delivery of quality lessons that add value to pupils and school.

*Proven record of the effective implementation of and strong commitment to equal opportunities policies.

 

Essential:

* Qualified Teachers Status or equivalent teaching degree

*Have recent proven experience teaching SEN in a UK-based classroom

*Additional qualification in special educational needs (desirable)

*Eligible to work in the UK (must have valid visa)
