Excellent, full time and long term opportunity has arisen for a SEN Teacher required in a Ofsted rated 'Good' SEN School.


This post would suit a dedicated and experienced SEN Teacher with experience teaching a broad and balanced curriculum to students, who all have a statement of special educational needs (SEN) or an education healthcare plan (EHCP). Experience of team teach would be highly advantageous and it is essential you have gained working experience in a special school (not just mainstream).

About the School

  • Successful and well-established school for pupils aged 11-19 with autism, a wide range of learning difficulties and complex needs.

  • These include moderate and severe learning difficulties and communication needs.

  • The school have 160 pupils currently on roll, with numbers set to rise next year in response to local needs.

  • The school has an excellent reputation locally and beyond. It has a highly skilled and dedicated staff team who work together to ensure all pupils experience an exciting curriculum tailored to meet their individual needs. As a result, a safe, caring and supportive ethos enables them to be happy at school and achieve well in their learning.

Our school is looking to interview now for an SEN Teacher to support a small cohort of KS3 SEN children, with Autism and Complex Needs (Non-Verbal)

* Proven SEN teaching experience. (Special School, not just mainstream).
*Your practice needs to be good or outstanding and experience of teaching children with severe learning difficulties and autism, including those with challenging behaviour and attachment issues.
* Successful experience of demonstrating a consistent level of inclusive teaching ensuring delivery of quality lessons that add value to pupils and school. Pupils do make at least good progress in a wide range of subjects, including reading, writing and mathematics. A few pupils make outstanding progress.
* Proven record of the effective implementation of and strong commitment to equal opportunities policies. 

Essential: 
* Qualified Teachers Status or equivalent teaching degree 
*Have recent proven experience teaching SEN in a UK-based classroom 
* Additional qualification in special educational needs (desirable)
* Team-Teach Certified (desirable)
*Eligible to work in the UK (must have valid visa)
