Contract: Full-time, Temporary (Until Christmas)
An Alternative Provision school in Barking and Dagenham is seeking an experienced and passionate Biology Teacher to join the team for the autumn term. This is a fantastic opportunity for a dedicated educator with excellent subject knowledge and the resilience to thrive in a Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) environment.
The school operate across three campuses and provide full-time education and support for students in Years 7 to 11 (including our Outreach Tuition Plus Service, formerly Home Tuition Service). There learners are 11 to 16-year-olds who have faced challenges in mainstream settings, and the focus is on helping them re-engage with education in a safe, supportive, and structured environment.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and experience teaching Biology at KS3 and KS4
- A strong understanding of the national curriculum
- The ability to plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons.
- A calm, patient, and empathetic approach
- Resilience, a good sense of humour, and strong behaviour management skills
- Experience in an Alternative Provision or PRU setting (preferred but not essential)

Start Date: September
End Date: December (with potential for extension)
Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience
